Okay so...my boyfriend has been acting kind of "off" for the past few days. Like he's hiding something. He said on date night (friday) he has plans made so I need to be free at 7. I am assuming it's good news (not like he's hiding some terrible secret, since he has something "special" planned)
I'm nervous that he's going to proposed. I've never really been excited about marriage. I'm only 19, he's 21, we've been together for almost 3 1/2 years now. I'm just really nervous about it...but also kind of excited too :D But I'm also going to feel like a douche if what he says is something completely different haha

So in your opinion, how young is *too* young for engagement? (NOT marriage, as if he DOEs propose we already discussed that there will be no marriage until we're both done with university)

Erm...congratulations? :D

I'd personally say 15 or 16. At that age, you are just starting to get a grasp on the world around you, beginning to understand what it is to be an adult. From personal experience, that is when hormone fluctuations are the highest, so everything is unstable. At that age, nobody is really able to comprehend the seriousness of the ordeal you are undertaking. I'm from a small state where it's common to get engaged that young, then married at 17 to 19 and start having kids (in some cases, kids come first 0_o)

So, you guys are plenty old enough, you've got plans for the future (I assume), you're good to go.

I would say 16 is way to young. But also any age from 16-21 is. Your still young and immature. And more people out there you could date. I personally wouldn't get engaged at 19. I don't wanna be tied down to one person when I'm that young

I say under 24 is too young in my opinion! Because I believe you meet new people in life, especially where you work. My dad had a girlfriend of 10 years, dated from the age of 15, but when he met my mum he never felt love like that.

Anything younger than 16 or 17 is too young. Im 18 and engaged

Anything under 18 AKA legal adult. Or if you still live with your parents or depend on someone else for shelter, don't make your own money, can't pay your bills etc. then you're too young or too unstable. I'm 19, engaged, stable and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I think you're fine. Just because you're engaged doesn't mean you have to get married tomorrow.

Whenever you're old enough to be on your own. Which it sounds like you are.

I say. if you can pay for your rent, and have your own car, you're old enough.
