Question:
Teens: Have you had course selection for next school year yet?

I had mine today, we had to give basically what we wanted for next school year now. The second semester started last week, literally. I don't know weather to do AP or Dual Credit though, Dual Credit is soo expensive & it doesn't have the same grading scale as high school, so you can pass the college course but fail the high school class and have to take it over, but you're guaranteed college credit, in AP you have to score a certain score on the exit test to get that, plus it's free haha so If I fail it's not a waste of $800, because it's 400 a semester, plus additional costs for a book. I'm really confused on what I should take, but I think I'm going with AP. Along with that I'm taking, Pre-AP Algebra 2, AP English Language and Composition, Pre-AP Physics, Animation, Band and I have to take a semester of speech, but I'm taking FFA speech because I heard it's a blowoff class, and since it's only half a semester, I'm taking Nutrition with it because I didn't know what else to take. :/ My school has little to know good classes.

BQ: What classes are you in right now?

BQ: Are you content with your schedule? If not, why not?

We've gotten our options, and have to meets with our counselors to schedule them by the end of the month. I still have a lot of questions about mine, including whether I can take a third Psychology class or not, but so far I'm happy with my choices...I don't need to take as many "requirement" classes this year, and all my options are open so I can focus on anything I want.

BQ: World Myth I, Physical Science, AP Government, Brit Lit and Art II

BQ2: I don't really mind any of them - Phys Sci is almost too easy sometimes and the atmosphere is very slow, I don't like going to Art when I'm not in the right "creative mood", and AP Government can get a bit taxing at times, but I've tried to fix my attitude to it and just roll with the punches. Otherwise, they're all fun and I love them.

Gosh no. We haven't even started second semester yet. I believe we pick in March. I am gonna have to talk to my counselor though and see if I can get into this one class without taking the pre-requisite. Maybe I can test into it. Ahh, keep your fingers crossed for me, I want this class so bad!

Yours sounds like a good lineup. The great thing about AP is that colleges would rather have you get a B in an AP class than an A in a normal class. So thats a nice little incentive.

BQ: Pysch, Honors Bio, Honors Pre-Calc, Religion (its required), US History, AP Literature, Photography, Astronomy

BQ: Yes. Only because it changes next week into some classes I have been really looking forward to!

Your school has an interesting course selection system. Everything was relatively straightforward at my high school and we didn't have to pay to take an AP class. The tests were expensive and I was fortunate to waive out of the fees.

BQ: I will be taking Anthropology 1, Statistics 2, Political Science 2, and History 6B this semester! :)

BQ: I am! I have some back to back classes, but I prefer those over gaps since I can't concentrate on my homework when I know I have another class to rush to.

We got the cards to fill out last week and the cards are due in a few weeks... I actually forgot all about it and now the card is probably crumpled up in the bottom of my bag haha.

Your classes sound complicated... Here AP is the highest level/college credit course and it only costs money to take the AP exam haha.

BQ: French, Lang, Pre-Calc, Pysch, Ceramics, Bio, History.

BQ: Yeah I was actually just beginning to like my classes (like the people in them) and now they're changing next week.. but I already know I have a couple friends in some of my classes next semester. And in the in end if I don't like the people or don't have any friends I just remind myself school is about the grades mostly.

We are choosing ours in a couple of weeks. I'm nervous, I have the option to take 4 or more APs but i'm having trouble deciding which ones to take. I can't believe i'm going to be a Senior!!!

BQ: Pre-AP Modern American Lit, Pre-Calc, Chemistry, Gym, AP US History, Honors French, and Drawing.

BQ2: This year, I like most of my classes, but I need to figure out next years.

Good Luck!

I think we might do that next month or in march.. I have to take health and speech next year or senior year. I'm taking AP history and maybe English.

BQ: PAP chemistry, business information management 2, PAP geometry, PAP world history, PAP English 2, Dance 2, Spanish 3 PAP, Theater 1

BQ: yeah I guess, I wish I had a different chemistry class, so boring.

We do things a bit differently in the country I live in. From Year 7 to Year 9 you do all required subjects, in Year 10 and Year 11 you do core subjects and GCSE options and in Year 12 and 13 you can go to 6th form and do A-Levels, go to college, do an apprenticeship etc.

I've just picked my A-Levels a couple of months ago and I chose Art, English Lit, History and Philosophy and Ethics. I put Maths and French down as my reserves.

BQ: I do the core subjects (English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics), French, Art, History and Philosophy and Ethics.

No, we haven't chosen our classes for next year. I don't think we do until April or May..? And I don't think you should do the dual credit thing. You can do AP for free and it won't be so hard to keep up.

BQ: I am in Pre Algebra, English 1 Honors, Biology, CTE (Career and Technical Education), Aerobic Dance, And Theology. We Are Basically Studying Jesus And The Incarantion This Semester.

BQ: No, I don't like being in pre algebra. It makes me think I'm stupid, and I'm not. I just didn't do so well on placement tests, but oh well what can you do .

I'm behind in school so I don't really get to pick. I've already told my counselors I'd like creative writing or psychology if the conditions are right.

BQ: None are really that glamorous. Just picture all the usual subjects and a health period.

BQ: Not at all. I want more subjects oriented with what I like.

We get a packet telling us all of our class options but our final decisions must be done by February.
