Is Formspring a good site for teenagers? Have you got one?

I've heard people get bullied there a lot. It's just becoming popular here. I know it's been popular in America for a long time. I am thinking of getting an account. Do you have one? Do you have tips?

I've had a mostly positive experience on Formspring. I've only received a handful of rude or annoying comments or invasive questions in the year that I've had my account. I've gotten over a thousand kind, thought-provoking, funny, and interesting questions that I've been happy to answer. Others haven't been as fortunate. I know of younger teens who were perpetually bullied and harassed on Formpspring, and many disabled their accounts because it was far more detrimental than beneficial. The anonymous nature of the site entices cowardly bullies who would never have the courage to make ugly remarks directly to your face.
If you create an account on the site you need to sturdy yourself for questions that might be offensive or mean-spirited. If you are very sensitive and easily wounded by words, then it might not be the best site for you. It really doesn't matter who you are, eventually virtually everyone on the site will get a comment that was intended to be hurtful or annoying. You have to be resilient. You can make yourself less vulnerable there by not permitting anonymous questions or protecting your account.
You might also want to consider creating separate accounts for your "real life" friends and the ones you know from online so that you don't reveal too much about yourself to people you don't know in person. If you have just the one account be cautious about what you give away in your answers because you don't want strangers to know the school you go to or your full name. I used to have one account with the link posted on my Facebook and another one here, but then got more questions then I had the time to answer, so I reverted to having just this one account. I try to be careful.
I hope you enjoy the site if you create an account.

I have one but I barely ever get any questions, so it doesn't really bother me.
Alot of people LIKE the "abusive" questions because they'r funny to reply to, and it is goo to build up your confidence with someone you like as you can use the anonymous button, and you can find out what people really think of you - I don't think I know anyone who seriously got bullied on there.
I'd rather not post the link on here because no-one knows that I have Y!A, and I'd like to keep it that way, and if I posted my form-spring, then someone might recognise me.

Just click the "Sign Up" button.
I don't personally care about the stupid/offensive/creepy things people post there, but if you get offended easily, then Formspring is NOT for you.

I have one. It's alright. I've never been bullied on it, but it happens. It's easy to ignore, I suppose. You only have to answer the questions you feel like answering.

I don't see the point to it but i was bored and I made one. You could ask people questions and it doesn't Always have to be anonymous. Its funny to see some crazy answers you get. And haters on it I just don't pay attention to them.

ive got one, id say its a waste of time, people already hide behind there computers to **** talk people and getting formspring is asking someone to anonymously comment about you. i havent personally gotten anything bad written about me on mine but i got a bunch of messages saying garbage about my bf and stupid stuff,
my suggestion: stick to facebook!

No, in my opinion it's terrible. I know so many people who have gotten very hurt from the things people say. I say avoid it..it's not worth it.

i wouldn't really call it a "good" web site for teens... it can be fun for them because they can ask their friends questions anonymously... and it is easy to bully people on it
one bit of advice is just don't answer any questions that you don't feel are appropriate
