I have to write a short story for school?

It can't be more than 3500 words, but I didn't see any minimum words, so would this be good?

so there were these 2 squirrels and they decided to jump out of trees onto people and the squirrels got shot by osama bin laden.The end.

No, that's not a story. That's a sentence. Think of something funny that happened in your life... for example, you went to a haunted house last weekend (work with me). Your write about your experience, if you got followed by a crazy guy, were scared later, etc. Or maybe you went to a birthday party. Write about a funny conversation that happened.



Look, it's your choice. You can get a good grade on something you're proud of or you can be ridiculous and embarrassed when you turn it in.



Just write about an event in your life, do it in 1st person so you can tell exactly what was in your head, use spell check, double space (makes it look longer), and for God's sake make it more than a sentence. BE FUNNY, be sarcastic, etc. That way you can write less but be effective.

Nope, not okay. Generally, the definition of a short story is a work of fiction between 750-15,000 words (some sources give other counts, but none are so low as 26 words.)



Shorter than that, and it's called flash fiction, and when it's extremely short (yours) sometimes called micro-fiction.
