Cute Is What We Aim For - Do What You Do

No one is telling me the speed I should be travelling
So watch me take the lead
No one is telling me the speed I should be travelling
So watch me take the lead, yeah

There is an engine in my body
With every beat it lets me breathe
There is a machine within my body
If I could keep up with that machine that's in my body
I could do anything, be anything, see anything
I can feel the beat within my body
If I keep up with it could I catch myself?

Have you ever been fake for the sake of saving face?
You can work, you can play
From the cradle to the gave
Doesn't matter what they say
Have you ever been fake for the sake of saving face?
You can move as you make
From the cradle to the grave
Doesn't matter what they say

Quick, quick, quick, come fix me up
I need to make my move (Make my move)
This damn machine doesn't work the way that it used to
But that's what I get for taking it for granted
(I never even meant it, never even meant it)
That's what I get for taking it for granted
(No, I never even meant it, never even meant it)
If I keep up with it can I catch myself?

Have you ever been fake for the sake of saving face?
You can work, you can play
From the cradle to the gave
Doesn't matter what they say
Have you ever been fake for the sake of saving face?
You can move as you make
From the cradle to the grave
Doesn't matter what they say

No one is telling me the speed I should be travelling
So watch me take the lead (Watch me take the lead)
No one is telling me the speed I should be travelling
So watch me take the lead (Watch me take the lead)
No one is telling me the speed I should be travelling (No one, no one)
So watch me, watch me take the lead

Have you ever been fake for the sake of saving face?
You can work, you can play
From the cradle to the gave
Doesn't matter what they say
Have you ever been fake for the sake of saving face?
You can move as you make
From the cradle to the grave
Doesn't matter what they say
Doesn't matter what they say

Thanks for calling

It's so good to hear your voice

But you keep breaking up

In all the static and the noise

But I keep listening

'Cause I never had a chance when it came to you

I'd love to see you

If you're ever out this way

You sound happy

Guess things are working out okay

And I'm getting better

At putting one foot in front of the other

And I know that California ain't to blame

An I know there's a ton of people in LA

But if you ever get lonely

And you Miss Me

If you need someone to listen

Even if its only

The sound of someone's voice who loves you

That you need to hear

you know where to find me

If you ever get lonely

Sounds like a good time

Going down at the other end

You got a new love, got a new life

A whole new set of friends

Are you listenin'

Do you expect me to pretend that I don't love you

I don't love you

But if you ever get lonely

And you miss me

If you need someone to listen

Even if it's only

The sound of someone's voice who loves you

That you need to hear

You know where to find me if you ever get lonely

Were you ever really listening'

Where you ever really there?

JUST A CITY BOY, BORN AND RAISED IN SOUTH DETROIT. Every time I hear those lyrics I start to sing that song! Mine would be this whole song, but this is my favorite part of it... I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Living might mean taking chances But they're worth taking Lovin' might be a mistake But it's worth making Don't let some hell bent heart Leave you bitter When you come close to selling out Reconsider Give the heavens above More than just a passing glance I think mine should be pretty easy though. Above: I think yours is Need You Now by Lady Antebellum ( I think that's how you spell it)

Pink Matter - Frank Ocean ft. Andre 3000

And the peaches & the mangos

You could sell for me..

What do you think my brain is made for

Is it just a container for the mind

This great grey matter

Sensei replied what is your woman

Is she just a container for the child

That soft pink matter

Cotton candy Majin Buu

Close my eyes & fall into you

My god she's giving me pleasure

What if the sky & the stars are for show

And the aliens are watching live

From the purple matter

Sensei went quiet then violent

And we sparred until we both grew tired

Nothing mattered

Cotton candy maajin bu

Dim the lights & fall into you

My god giving me pleasure

Pleasure pleasure pleasure

Pleasure over matter

[Andre 3000]

Since you been gone

I been having withdrawals

You were such a habit to call

I ain't myself at all had to tell myself naw

She's better with some fella with a regular job

I didn't wanna get her involved

By dinner mr. benjamin was sittin in awe

Hopped into my car drove far

Far's too close & I remember

My memories no sharp

Butter knife what a life anyway

I'm building y'all a clock stop

What am I hemingway

She had the kind of body

That would probably intimidate

Any of 'em that were un-southern

Not me cousin

If models are made for modeling

Thick girls are made for cuddlin'

Switch worlds & we can huddle then

Who needs another friend

I need to hold your hand

You'd need no other man

We'd flee to other lands

Grey matter

Blue used to be my favorite color

Now I ain't got no choice

Blue matter

You're good at being bad

You're bad at being good

For heaven's sakes go to hell

Knock knock knock knock on wood

Well frankly when that ocean so motherf*ckin good

Make her swab the motherf*ckin wood

Make her walk the motherf*ckin plank

Make her rob a motherf*ckin bank

With no mask on & a rusty revolver

A long long time ago

I can still remember how

That music used to make me smile

And I knew if I had my chance

That I could make those people dance

And maybe they'd be happy for a while

But February made me shiver

With every paper I'd deliver

Bad news on the doorstep

I couldn't take one more step

I can't remember if I cried

When I read about his widowed bride

But something touched me deep inside

**The day the music died**

So

[Chorus]

Bye, bye Miss American Pie

Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry

Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey in Rye

Singin' this'll be the day that I die

This'll be the day that I die

Did you write the book of love

And do you have faith in God above

If the Bible tells you so?

Now do you believe in rock and roll?

Can music save your mortal soul?

And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that you're in love with him

Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym

You both kicked off your shoes

Man, I dig those rhythm and blues

I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck

With a pink carnation and a pickup truck

But I knew I was out of luck

The day the music died

I started singin'

[Chorus]

Now, for ten years we've been on our own

And moss grows fat on a rolling stone

But, that's not how it used to be

When the jester sang for the king and queen

In a coat he borrowed from James Dean

And a voice that came from you and me

Oh and while the king was looking down

The jester stole his thorny crown

The courtroom was adjourned

No verdict was returned

And while Lenin read a book on Marx

The quartet practiced in the park

And we sang dirges in the dark

The day the music died

We were singin'

[Chorus]

Helter skelter in a summer swelter

The birds flew off with a fallout shelter

Eight miles high and falling fast

It landed foul on the grass

The players tried for a forward pass

With the jester on the sidelines in a cast

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume

While sergeants played a marching tune

We all got up to dance

Oh, but we never got the chance

Cause the players tried to take the field

The marching band refused to yield

Do you recall what was revealed

The day the music died?

We started singin'

[Chorus]

Oh, and there we were all in one place

A generation lost in space

With no time left to start again

So come on Jack be nimble, Jack be quick

Jack Flash sat on a candlestick

Cause fire is the devil's only friend

And as I watched him on the stage

My hands were clenched in fists of rage

No angel born in Hell

Could break that Satan's spell

And as the flames climbed high into the night

To light the sacrificial rite

I saw Satan laughing with delight

The day the music died

He was singin'

[Chorus]

I met a girl who sang the blues

And I asked her for some happy news

But she just smiled and turned away

I went down to the sacred store

Where I'd heard the music years before

But the man there said the music wouldn't play

And in the streets the children screamed

The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed

But not a word was spoken

The church bells all were broken

And the three men I admire most-

the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost-

They caught the last train for the coast

The day the music died

And they were singing

If it makes you less sad, I will die by your hand

Hope you find out what you are; already know what I am

And if it makes you less sad, we'll start talking again

You can tell me how vile I already know that I am

I'll grow old, start acting my age

It'll be a brand new day in a life that you hate

A crown of gold, a heart that's harder than stone

And it hurts to hold on, but it's missed when it's gone

Call me a safe bet, I'm betting I'm not

I'm glad that you can forgive, only hoping as time goes, you can forget

If it makes you less sad, I'll move out of this state

You can keep to yourself, I'll keep out of your way

And if it makes you less sad, I'll take your pictures all down

Every picture you paint, I will paint myself out

It's cold as a tomb, and it's dark in your room

When I sneak to your bed to pour salt in your wounds

So call it quits, or get a grip

You say you wanted a solution; you just wanted to be missed

Call me a safe bet, I'm betting I'm not

I'm glad that you can forgive, only hoping as time goes, you can forget

So you can forget, you can forget

You are calm and reposed

Let your beauty unfold

Pale white, like the skin stretched over your bones

Spring keeps you ever close

You are second-hand smoke

You are so fragile and thin, standing trial for your sins

Holding on to yourself the best you can

You are the smell before rain

You are the blood in my veins

Call me a safe bet, I'm betting I'm not

I'm glad that you can forgive, only hoping as time goes, you can forget

I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading

I try to forget you as you forgot me

This time there is nothing left for you to take, this is goodbye

Summer is miles and miles away

And no one would ask me to stay

And I should contemplate this change

To ease the pain

And I should step out of the rain

Turn away

Close to ending it all, I am drifting through the stages

Of the rapture born within this loss

Thoughts of death inside, tear me apart from the core of my soul

Summer is miles and miles away

And no one would ask me to stay

And I should contemplate this change

To ease the pain

And I should step out of the rain

Turn away

At times the dark's fading slowly

But it never sustains

Would someone watch over me

In my time of need

Michael Jackson - Man in the mirror

If you want to make this world a better place

take a look at yourself and make a change.

http://www.elyrics.net/read/m/michael-jackson-lyrics/man-in-the-mirror-lyrics.html

That song helped me a lot as a teenager. I was in major depression, cutting, self harm and tried to kill myself. I was dealing with many bad things in my past plus still being abused by my mom.

One day while I was listening to Michael Jackson's new album I heard Man in the Mirror. It stopped me in my tracks. It hit me hard and I got the message.

I can't change my past. I can't change how people treat me. But I can change how I respond to it. I need to make the change in myself. Not others.

That really helped me on the path of healing. I also still try to use that as a life message. If I hit hard times there is no reason to sit down, cry and have a pity party. I need to stand up, look at what is going on change my view of the situation.

This is really the one and only song that has helped me so much.

I've heard others say the same. I have a friend who was an alcoholic and they use this song as part of therapy.

More than anything though I wish I could tell Michael Jackson thank you and let him know how much his song helped me.

So am I still waiting

For this world to stop hating

Can't find a good reason

Can't find hope to believe in

Drop dead a bullet to my head

Your words are like a gun in hand

You can't change the state of the nation

We just need some motivation

These eyes have seen no conviction

Just lies and more contradiction

So tell me what would you say

I'd say it's time too late

So am I still waiting

For this world to stop hating

Can't find a good reason

Can't find hope to believe in

Ignorance and understanding

We're the first ones to jump in line

Out of step for what we believe in

But whos left? to stop the bleeding

How far will we take this

It's not hard to see through the fakeness

So tell me what would you say

I'd say it's time too late

So am I still waiting

For this world to stop hating

Can't find a good reason

Can't find hope to believe in

This can't last forever

Time won't make things better

I feel so alone

Can't help myself

And no one knows

If this is worthless

Tell me: so

What have we done

We're in a war that can't be won

This can't be real

I don't know what to feel

So am I still waiting

For this world to stop hating

Can't find a good reason

Can't find hope to believe in

So am I still waiting

For this world to stop hating

Can't find a good reason

Can't find hope to believe

Sweet disposition

Never too soon

Oh, reckless abandon

Like no one's watching you

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh

A kiss, a cry, our rights, our wrongs

A moment (oh), a dream, a laugh

A moment (oh), a dream, a laugh...

Just stay there

'Cause I'll be comin' over

And while our blood's still young

It's so young, it runs

And we won't stop 'till it's over

Won't stop to surrender

Songs of desperation

I played them for you

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh

A kiss, a cry, our rights, our wrongs

A moment (oh), a dream, a laugh

A moment (oh), a dream, a laugh...

Just stay there

'Cause I'll be comin' over

And while our blood's still young

It's so young, it runs

And we won't stop 'till it's over

Won't stop to surrender...

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh (Won't stop 'till it's over)

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh (Won't stop to surrender)...

She can't see the landscape anymore

It's all painted in her grief

All of her history etched out at her feet

Now all of the landscape, it's just an empty place

Acres of longing, mountains of tenderness

Cause she's just like the weather, can't hold her together

Born from dark water, daughter of the rain and snow

Cause it's burning through the bloodline

It's cutting down the family tree

Growing in the landscape, darling, in between you and me

She wants the silence but fears the solitude

She wants to be alone and together with you

So she ran to the lighthouse, hoped that it would help her see

She saw that the lighthouse had been washed out to sea

Cause she's just like the weather, can't hold her together

Born from dark water, daughter of the rain and snow

Cause it's burning through the bloodline

It's cutting down the family tree

Growing in the landscape, darling, in between you and me

I wanna give you back the open sky

Give you back the open sea

Open up the ages, darling, for you to see

You put the gun into your mouth to bite

You pull it and spit out

Cause it's running in the family

All the richer between you and me

Cause she's just like the weather, can't hold her together

Born from dark water, daughter of the rain and snow

Cause it's burning in the bloodline

It's cutting down the family tree

Growing in the landscape, darling, in between you and me

Man, it's hard because my favorite always changes.

Probably "2 Late" by The Cure

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJIeEIwZJtk

so i'll wait for you

where i always wait

behind the signs that sell the news

i'll watch for you like yesterday

and hope for you

one day that once

spent out on me

and up 'til late

i search for you

your hat pushed straight

away from me

your measured step

heads up you win

always too late

oh if i could just once catch your eye

invisible against the words

that hold you down in solitude

and never let you go

the way that every time

my eyes just close

like lids of wooden men in file

i put you under rainy day

your hat's all off

and i'm gone away...

so i'll wait for you

where i always wait

behind the signs that sell the news

and i'll watch for you like yesterday

and hope for you

one day that once

spent out on me

and up 'til late

i search for you

your hat pushed straight

away from me

your measured step

heads up you win

always too late

It's a song called Sink by Brand New.

Lyrics:

I don't want to let you go

But it hurts my hands to hold the rope

I won't be such an easy mark

You're no better then they say

And all the candles on the cake

All set fire to the gate

Turn the cannons towards the boat

Men were drowning in the moat

It was the end of all rowers oars

If you call then I'm coming to get you

If you call then I'm coming, now

If you call then I'm coming to get you

You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

All I want's some earth and seed

But only grow the things I need

But first I must find my way back

And you go lay down on the track

At first I had an even keel

But now I'm not sure what is real.

It's taken me this long to learn

That every dead is ate by worms

And once they're gone they don't return

If you call then I'm coming to get you

If you call then I'm coming, now

If you call then I'm coming to get you

You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

I'm coming to get you

If you call then I'm coming to get you

If you call then I'm coming to get you

You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

Then the fire snuck into your bedroom

Now I'm falling asleep to forget you

How darkly the dark hand met his end

He was withered and boney, exposed for a phoney

But we heed the last words that he penned

Haste to disgrace the traitor. Do not wait til later

I don't think that you've got to pretend

I see God in birds and Satan in long words

But I know what you need in a friend

So now when I leave you, I hope I won't see you

How darkly the dark hand met his end

He was withered and boney, exposed for a phoney

But we heed the last words that he penned

Haste to disgrace the traitor. Do not wait til later

If you call then I'm coming to get you

If you call then I'm coming, now

If you call then I'm coming to get you

You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

Well, I'm coming to get you

If you call then I'm coming, now

If you call then I'm coming to get you

You want to sink, so I'm gonna let you

Then the fire snuck into your bedroom

Now I'm falling asleep to forget you

The cotton wood fallin' like snow in July

Sunset, riverside, four wheel drive and a tail light circle

Roll down the windows, turn it on up

Poor a little Crown in a Dixie cup

Get the party, started

Girl you make my speakers go "BOOM BOOM"

Dancin' on the tailgate in a full moon

That kinda thing makes a man go mhmm mhmm

You're lookin' so good in what's left of those blue jeans

Drip of honey on the money maker gotta bee

The best buzz I'm ever gonna find..

I'm a little drunk on you, and high on summertime

Well if you ain't a ten, you're a 9.9

Tippin' and spillin' that homemade wine on your tied-up, tshirt

Every little kiss is drivin me wild, throwin little cherry bombs into my fire

Good God al-mighty

Girl you make my speakers go "BOOM BOOM"

Dancin' on the tailgate in a full moon

That kinda thing makes a man go mhmm mhmm

You're lookin' so good in what's left of those blue jeans

Drip of honey on the money maker gotta bee

The best buzz I'm ever gonna find..

I'm a little drunk on you, and high on summertime

So, let's slip on out, where it's a little bit darker

And when it gets a little bit hotter

We'll take off on out in the water

Girl you make my speakers go "BOOM BOOM"

Dancin' on the tailgate in a full moon

That kinda thing makes a man go mhmm mhmm

You're lookin' so good in what's left of those blue jeans

Drip of honey on the money maker gotta bee

The best buzz I'm ever gonna find..

Hey, I'm a little drunk on you, and high on summertime

Girl, I'm a little drunk on you

Haha. Nobody's going to bother reading them, are they? Also, I don't have a favourite song. Not an overall favourite, anyway. So I'll do my current favourite (which is also one of my MANY overall favourites).

I want to break free

I want to break free

I want to break free from your lies

You're so self-satisfied I don't need you

I got to break free

God knows, God knows I want to break free

I've fallen in love

I've fallen in love for the first time

And this time I know it's for real

I've fallen in love, yeah

God knows, God knows I've fallen in love

It's strange but it's true (hey yeah)

I can't get over the way you love me like you do

But I have to be sure

When I walk out that door

Oh how I want to be free baby

Oh how I want to be free

Oh how I want to break free

But life still goes on

I can't get used to living without, living without, living without you

by my side

I don't want to live alone, hey

God knows got to make it on my own

So baby can't you see

I've got to break free

I've got to break free

I want to break free, yeah

I want, I want, I want, I want to break free …

This world

This world is cold

But you don't

You don't have to go

You're feeling sad, you're feeling lonely,

And no one seems to care

You're mother's gone and your father hits you

This pain you cannot bear

But we all bleed the same way as you do

And we all have the same things to go through

Hold on if you feel like letting go

Hold on it gets better than you know

Your days

You say they're way too long

And your nights

You can't sleep at all

Hold on

And you're not sure what you're waiting for,

But you don't want to no more

And you're not sure what you're looking for,

But you don't want to no more

But we all bleed the same way as you do

And we all have the same things to go through

Hold on if you feel like letting go

Hold on it gets better than you know

Don't stop looking, you're one step closer

Don't stop searching, it's not over

Hold on

What are you looking for?

What are you waiting for?

Do you know what you're doing to me?

Go ahead,

What are you waiting for?

Hold on if you feel like letting go

Hold on it gets better than you know

Don't stop looking, you're one step closer

Don't stop searching, it's not over

Hold on if you feel like letting go

Hold on it gets better than you know

Hold on

"Glad You Came"

this is one of my favorites

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

You cast a spell on me, spell on me

You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me

And I decided you look well on me, well on me

So let's go somewhere no one else can see, you and me

Turn the lights out now

Now I'll take you by the hand

Hand you another drink

Drink it if you can

Can you spend a little time,

Time is slipping away,

Away from us so stay,

Stay with me I can make,

Make you glad you came

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

You cast a spell on me, spell on me

You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me

And I decided you look well on me, well on me

So let's go somewhere no one else can see, you and me

Turn the lights out now

Now I'll take you by the hand

Hand you another drink

Drink it if you can

Can you spend a little time,

Time is slipping away,

Away from us so stay,

Stay with me I can make,

Make you glad you came

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

So glad you came

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came
