Is it wrong for a 15 year old girl to fancy a 20 year old guy?

My friend was 15 this year and she recently told me she likes a 20 year old guy. Is this wrong? And is it wrong if they started a relationship together?

It's not wrong to like an older guy, it's wrong to start a relationship. 5 years are too many, but unfortunately too many girls don't understand it. They say "age is just a number", but then they just can't have a normal teenage, act like normal teenagers because their much older boyfriends don't want to! It happened to a dear friend of mine: she's 17 and she had been in a serious relationship with a 21 year old. That guy didn't want her to go out with her friends, go dancing or to the cinema with her mates. Luckily, they broke up! She couldn't keep on that way!

NO considering people are experimenting with there brothers and family and questions have been posted like this on yahoo for a long long time. A Relationship is normal but sex within the relationship considering in the eyes of the law it is illegal but common... as for normal maybe maybe not.. common and normal are 2 different things, just because something has more Majority don't make it normal. there is 75% people in the Usa having underage sex only 35% that isn't.. so does that make it by default normal then. There is no harm in having in a simple crush on a 20 year old guy, but to really really like and want or have a relationship with him would be pretty wrong

its not wrong at all, but it is illegal for them to be together. in MA and a lot of other states the age of conesnt is 16, but in some it's 18.

so they'll have to wait either 1 or 3 years to be together (openly at least)

I dated someone 19 when I was 14, and we are friends still to this day.



It isn't wrong, but at the same time you have to take a closer look at the guy. If they do get together, is he just after a young, innocent, naive girl, or does he really like her?

It's not illegal to like a 20 yr old at 15. It's illegal to have sex if they're caught.



But, It makes a big difference now at 15, but if she waits a few years *like when she's 18*, it's not big deal. Just because she's in HS and he may be in college. It's odd that he may be willing to be with such a young girl.

Assuming you are in the UK (you have posted in YA-UK) it would be illegal for them to have sex or for him to send her sexually explicit messages until she turns 16.

They can have a romantic relationship which does not include sex (e.g. the law implies that they can make plans for getting married in the future).

Honestly, it's a 5 year age difference. Many couples(Including myself) have made it with a 5 year or more age difference.



And it's NOT illegal in ALL states in America. Each state has their own age of consent laws. Each state allows a certain number of years between sexual partners. (If one is a minor)

It's illegal for them to sleep together and I wouldnt allow my daughter to date a 20yr old if she was 15. Its not unuall to see that now a days though.

In some places it is illegal if they have sex, it would be considered rape. But hey, its not rape if you enjoy it ;)
