Teen: Do you ever get grounded for your Grades?

Question

I was wondering, today we got our report cards and I almost got grounded. I had 2 B's, 1 C and 1 A. My dad wasn't happy, but at least I didn't get a D. Our grading system is:

A- Superior
B- Above Average
C- Average
D- Below Average
E- Failing

My uncle grounds his boys if they get anything below an A o.O. We aren't Asian either (not that i'm hinting anything). I tried my hardest and I don't sleep in class, I take all my notes, study hard for my tests and do my homework and have everything turned in on time. I've just now to changed my homework / study time from after school to 5:30 pm and use the rest of the night until 10 for free time. I was really upset with myself. How about y'all?

I've always gotten straight A's, but my parents would never accept anything below a B.

Yeah. I get grounded for anything lower than an "A-". My parents put a "first place policy" on everything. Our family motto is "Second place is the first loser". It pays off a lot though. I have most of my credits done already and I only need to take a few more classes senior year and if I do well again in track next year I will have a full scholarship to a University that I really want to attend.



My school grading system is similar except, we get an "F" rather than an "E"



My parents grading system,



A: Good. That is what you are suppose to get.



B: Try harder next time. We will take away your cell phone for a week to give you more time to study.



C: Are you kidding me?



D: Every single privilege is taken away



F: I don't even know what would happen



My lowest grade on a report card was a B. I honestly try hard but I have practice everyday after school so it is kinda hard.



EDIT: I am not Asian either lol. My dad is a lawyer though so maybe that is why he pushes me so hard.

I've never gotten grounded. I've never gotten anything below a B, and my parents are pretty happy with my grades. You sound like your doing all of the right things, maybe talk to the teacher that gave you a C and see if you can get some extra credit work. At least your trying!

My dad tells me off and grounds me if i get anything below an a*, but occasionally i can get away with an a without being grounded x

Honestly a C is not a good grade. An average means you don't quite understand the subject, but you do your work, participate and do not misbehave. You should be upset about getting a C.

Nah, I get good grades. But even my brothers (who get/got bad grades) don't get grounded for it. Grounding isn't something my parents really do. It's more of just a scolding, if anything at all.

i've always gotten A*'s, and my parents flip if I get anything less than an A. in my opinion they're too strict
