whats wrong with me i am a 16 year old teenager?

im bulimic and tend to cut, heres why im bulimic to loose weight because i want to be as thin as marykate olsen or shanae grimes from 90210 basicly i want my ribs to be visable, and i cut to hide my pain, i can be happy then just snap over little things or just feel like crying, some of my so called friends think im attention seeking but i just want to be normal as im not as petit as the rest hence they are all size 8-10 were as im 16-18.. are they right whats wrong because im scared...

You need to stop that behavior. Now. Seriously, it will only get worse.



My girlfriend was Bulimic, after realizing that it didn't work, she turned Anorexic. Now at 18 years old she is 5'5 70lbs and bedridden. I love her but I don't find her attractive anymore.



If you want to lose weight, then at least go about it in a sensible way. The physical effects and dangers that come with purging/excessive restriting are just not worth it and agter a while what you are doing becomes addictive.



Whilst the cutting is not quite as dangerous as the Eating Disorder, it is still dangerous. If one of those cuts get infected you could die. Besides, scars are pernament. Yes they fade but they never go away, not completley. Do you really want all those pernament reminders on you ? Once you stop cutting you are going to despise those scars. What are you going to do in the summer when the weather warms up and people ask you about them ?



You are a 16 year old kid, you have got your whole life ahead of you. You can do whatever you want to do. Make the most of it. Create a good future for youself.

i wear a size 14. don't worry about it. feel good abut how you look. i was studying this in my englih class. we were learning abut the efects of the medials 'ideal image'. basically a celebrity is seen with the perfect body but they do extreme dieting. the media has in a way set this as the ideal image and many people are pressured into becoming like the ideal image. thats basically what you are doing. your wanting to look like a celebrity because of what the media has put out there as the perfect body. the truth is, no one is perfect.

i suggest to find a way to stop being bulimic (i know it wont be easy but iu should really do it) and find something to do on your spare time. play some sports for fun or play an instrument, hang out with your friends.

anyway, best of luck and dont fall for the medias ideal image

You're never going to fix this problem unless you have third party help. Somebody that won't judge you and doesn't know your past history. You need to either talk to a counsellor (preferably not) or your doctor to get a referral to a psychiatrist and get down to the underlying reason why you cut and why you are bulimic. Nobody other than your parents need to know that you see a psych but I think it would do you good. They would definitely be able to help you and it would probably feel good to talk to somebody that won't judge you.

You just need a happy hobby. Guitar playing, photography, needlepoint, heck, even videogames can be fun and will keep you occupied.
