I actually have two bedrooms - one at my dad's house and one at my mom & step dad's, and both of them perpetually look like they've been torn apart by a tornado (neatness is not exactly my forte), so if you saw them I'm not sure you'd really be inspired!

When they're picked up, they are an eclectic haven. I'm absolutely obsessed with the color green, and that is evident as soon as you walk into the rooms. My room at my dad's house (where I live most of the time) is sort of funky because it had originally been built to be a bedroom with a baby's nursery attached. We didn't build the house, (it's a Craftsman from the 1930s) but I kinda think it's a cool set up. Anyway, so there is this little random alcove hallway connecting the bedroom to a bathroom and another little room. The walls in the bedroom and alcove are painted green, and the baby room is painted a sky blue. Most of my furniture, including my bed, is antique. Some were family pieces and others we just found at random places. I got my desk at a garage sale we were passing by one day and painted it green. I have a quilt my grandmother made for me on my bed, and an old scarf of hers draped over my nightstand. I have things I got while traveling, including a bird pendant (I'm also obsessed with birds!) hanging over my bed. Against another wall I have a vanity and chair and an apothecary chest with my TV on top. I also have my guitars and paintings hanging up on that wall. Against the third wall is a futon. It's actually where I do most of my work, and it's also handy for when friends stay over. In the alcove I have a chest of drawers, my desk and a little workspace, bookshelves & bunch of clutter I need to get rid of. I also have a huge mural I painted on the wall of a "love tree." In the baby room I have vintage purses that had belonged to my mom and grandmother hanging on the wall, an old bookcase I painted green with some of my dolls and paintings on top, a photo collage, and a lounge chair in the corner with a little bird mural on the wall above it. I also have this ancient record player in there that still works.

It sounds like I have this gigantic space, but actually each of the rooms are fairly small. I also have a room downstairs I use as an art studio that has three purple walls and one red one with a mural. There is no real furniture in that room - just shelves for the supplies.

My room at my mom's house is tiny. I mean teeny, tiny, tiny. It's painted yellow and has a little mural on one wall, another really awesome quilt my grandmother made with a peacock on it, and a chest of drawers with a globe and some photos on top.

I actually took a pic of my room yesterday to show you after you asked the other question about decorating. I haven't uploaded it yet, but I will along with older ones of my rooms, and will edit this answer to add the link.

EDIT 2:

You're room sounds fascinating and awesome, Greta! I love Anthropologie, too. If you're heading over to BH anytime soon check out their store there because right now they have some really cool things that I didn't see at the SM or Grove location.

My room is my little getaway, and I put alot of effort to get it the way it is, and buy everything for it.

I have 3 lime green walls, and my feature wall is black board paint and all my friends have written on it. I have a king size bed with a wooden frame, and a zebra bed spread. I have a decent sized TV with DVD and surround sound on my walls and then I have a desk set up for my laptop and printer and stuff, i have an en suite but I dont really keep it that clean :)

It has white and brown walls that were like that when I moved in (I live in a trailer park). I have about 10 of my drawings all over the walls. My drawings are stuff like hands, nature, and I also have one with a house in it. Where my drawings aren't, I have flowers with smiley faces made from construction paper and they are on the walls and ceiling. I also have several peace signs in my room. Some are on the walls, and others are haging from the ceiling. I have a pink and green bed sheet and a few stuffed animals. I also have a pinka dn orange lava lamp in my room along with a dream catcher and blue light thing.

Well...let's see.

Walls...Are sponge-painted light blue. The Obama wall is to my right, complete with inaguration-day poster. I have my favorite quotes hanging around the room and straticigally placed posters.

Floors...Are tiled.

Bed...Is big (dirty!), no I just like big beds (again, dirty!). It's my favorite part of my room.

Desk...Is messy right now, but it houses my computer and school books. Though, right now, it is kind of being taken over by dishes.

That's about it! Oh, Molly! My piano! (Sorry, Molly).

It's very messy...I'm still in the middle of organizing and decorating it...

My walls alternate two different colours: brick red and an off-white (grey-ish, not beige) colour...I painted my walls with that sand textured paint...

My walls are themed individually, based on different parts of the world. One will be European, one South American and African (I can't find enough authentic African stuff for one wall), one Asian, and one North American...Well, I might change one of the walls to half Middle Eastern stuff, too...So many cultures and too little room...Bleh...

Anyway, good luck with decorating your room! It should reflect part of your personality!

My room is lime green (http://www.butterflyscrapbooking.com/Paper%20Accents%20Heavy%20Lime%20Green.jpg) and watermelon pink (http://www.colourlovers.com/wallPaper/390x300/c/FF3366/COLOURlovers.com-Watermelon_Pink.png) on the walls. My bed is in the corner against a wall, with a white canopy (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uSeRU-ETP1I/Rw-6TfhfN-I/AAAAAAAAAZs/Je34-tsdEo0/s320/Canopy.bmp) ayt the head of the bed. My bedspread is yellow and I have a pink and green pillow. I also have a light fixture over my mirror that is circles in different shades of green. I also have a green beanbag in front of my shelf (it's my reading area).

My walls are pink and lime green stripes. I sort of have a pink and green theme in my room. I have stuffed animals around my room on my nightstand (practically covering it), on my shelves and on the floor (I love them even though I'm 18). I also have a portrait I drew on my wall and one of my paintings on the floor leaning against the wall.

And a hamster cage :)

Good luck with your room! :)

i, too am in the midst of re-decorating. i get bored of my room often and about every 6 months i'll do something major but i wont completely strip it. i think its a good thing because my taste changes over time and living in an environment which i feel most comfortably myself in is crucial for me. it keeps me happy and its just a nice refreshing change once in a while.

we live in la and our house is such a typical californian house. its a 2 story spanish house on a beautiful street but the house itself looked a mess when we first moved in so we did alot or redecorating and renovating to restore it and it looks pretty amazing. we've just about finished up all the little details.

i got my room painted peach when we first moved in because i think it is one of the most versatille colors there is. its also really bright and fun =). my floor is hardwood like 90% of the house and is complimented with anique furniture. my parents are crazy about antiques and growing up i hated them but i love it now. they hold so much history. some of my favorite peices are the large half-moon desk in my room and my queen bed frame with spiral posts and intricate carvings which was bought on ebay. theyre both beautiful.

one wall is completely obscured by posters, magazine clippings, art, famous quotes, and street stickers (like the obey/obama ones). what i love about it is that it looks like a huge collage. another wall has a 4ft by 4ft square framed middle-eastern vintage colorfully embroidered quilt that belonged to my grandparents. they worked with the UN and traveled to an uncountable number of places throughout their lives and several other things in my room are things and art they had accumulated from different countries. i also add to this ''collection" with souvenirs of my own from my travels. i have a marbletop wooden cabinet and the marble just looked out of place so i covered it with a green, black, white, and burguny sheet patterned with the female sign inside a geometric shape of a bird and in the center it says "UN decade for women conference july 1985 nairobi/kenya". i also have a vintage dress form in my closet. i dont really use it too much but im planning on decorating it. im goint to somehow temporarily adhere newspapers covered in jewels, buttons, sequins, etc. one wall in my closet (walk-in) has a contemporary bird-print wallpaper and the other walls are wooden planks. its and odd polygon shape almost like a heptagon but not quite. my closet door is covered in graffiti art which was done by a friend of a friend who is one of la's best graffiti artists as a birthday present. hanging on one of my bed posts is a mini rose and flower bouqet that i held during 8th grade graduation. not a single petal has fallen for 5 years!

ive also been trying to be super organized lately so i went to the container store recently and bought all this cool stuff and now im so motivated (OCD is a better word) to clean my room =P

on my bed i have a bedpread from anthropologie thats just a white sheet covered in a silver medallion print. i also have a random twin bed in my room because there wasnt any space in the house for another anique. my rooms not exactly big but its not too small either. im hoping to clear out the basement so i can swap the bed for a couch. the duvet cover is that blue print thats seen on porcelain? similar to this but instead with trees, swallows, and women and children tending to farm animals in whats looks like the 19th century:

http://www.ibiblio.org/chinesehistory/contents/07spe/specrep02img/color.blue.jpg

my room isnt really themed. theres an assortment of colors and shades, ethnic origins, art, etc. i just decorate it with whatever i please. i feel that if you have certain theme then you are limited too much and if that theme is based on an interest caused by a phase then you will grow sick of it soon.

hope you will be inspired! good luck =)
