Is it inappropriate for a grown man to sleep in the same bed as his 14 year old nephew?

My stepson thinks it ok to sleep in the same bed as his uncle when he visits him, while the uncles girlfriend sleeps on the couch. I find this very disturbing. Don't you?

i honestly don't see a problem with this at all. If there was something inappropriate going on, the nephew wouldn't enjoy sleeping i the bed with his uncle and there would most likely be signs. in my opinion, there is just a close nephew/uncle relationship. I would let my son sleep in the same bed with my brother if he wanted to and my brother also accepted.

No i don't find it weird. I'm very close to my nieces and nephews and when they crash at my apartment they sometimes sleep in my bed. Nothing happens, they are children and family. I'm not sick, no thought crosses my mind. Many families have several people in a one bedroom house. Sleeping in a bed with a family member shouldn't be wrong. Unless of course your child feels uncomfortable.



Is there another reason the girlfriend prefers to sleep on the couch? Look into that first. For instance she may have to go to work early in the morning, and instead of waking him up around 7 am when she is running through the house trying to get ready, it might be easier for everyone if he crashes in the bedroom with his uncle so they can sleep in .



I think you're just over thinking it. The Uncle probably thinks of him as a son, and think there's no harm done. If you're really worried you can run it over your step son and question him if anything is going on. But i doubt there is.

I really don't see the problem but this is your question so I'll kinda try to tell you why it's okay of I can convince you. I am 13 and I have a 3 year old cousin who LOVES to sleep with me every time she stays with me. Right now my brother is sharing the same room as me and he has to go to the couch. I find it normal because I would say that nephew is really attached to his uncle or he feels comfortable. Or maybe he just is scared to sleep om his own and asked his uncle to sleep with him. You should really ask your cousin though if you really want to know.
