Hi, I READ my book last night. My teacher gave us a reading quiz and I got 7/16 right. He graded it pass or fail.

He told me that I failed it. I feel so dumb! He gave me a zero and he didn't think I read it.

Um....I read it, but I just made stupid mistakes and forgot some of the stuff.

I even took NOTES while reading. Should I show him my notes? What can I do? Please help I did my reading i'm just bad at remembering and the way he words the questions throws me off (i'm not bright...:(

But seriously if I DIDN'T read wouldn't I have gotten no questions right?

You were probably just really tired or hungry so you weren't thinking straight. I would show your teacher the notes. Tell him you weren't on your game and that you didnt understand the questions. Maybe he will let you retake it.

Since it is just a quiz, it probably wont take up a lot of your grade...just try harder n3ext time and prove him that you read the next chapter.

After you do read, make sure you understood the reading by making up a quick summery of the raeding in your head to make sure it all makes sence.

While you are reading, if you dont understand what just happend in a paragraph reread it until you understand it

There is also a website that gives summaries of tons and tons of books chapter by chapter it is called

www.sparknotes.com

I do know that will help a lot i you read the summary on the website first then read the book so you have a broad idea of what is going on and then you can pick out more details when you read

You obviously didn't understand it well enough. Some people can skim a book once and get the jist of it to take a test, and others have to actually sit down and read through it and think about it. You've figured out you're the latter, so now you know to take more time. Next time, read a couple nights before, and then skim over it the night before to make sure you really understand.

"I READ my book last night". You should read a book two, three, or four times before taking any test on it, not just skimming through it the night before.

Speak to your teacher about it, however. If you feel you have serious comprehension issues, it's better to address them now rather than later.

Hello everybody! He/She didn't skim it. She read it and took NOTES. That just shows how much reading skills you have.

Don't feel like a moron. Because you aren't one. Maybe you should read it twice next time.

Just because you read it doesn't mean you understood it. I'm sorry, maybe you should have a one on one session with him, and he can tutor you a bit!

You skimmed it. That's not good.
